JB’s reopening with brand new menu
We’re very happy to announce that we’ll be reopening JB’s this Saturday 4th July.
Online bookings are now open. Click here to book.
Quite a few changes; new opening hours and new menu. Other details will follow (see social media), but it’s actually been quite exciting working on this new iteration. Honestly, we can’t wait to get on with things! Fingers crossed, cos now comes the hard bit.
It goes without saying that we’ve put in all suitable measures to keep everyone safe. We’ve removed a number of tables to ensure good distancing and our physical interactions will be more careful and more measured (in both senses!).
‘JB at Home’ will continue for the foreseeable future too – click here for our latest ‘At Home’ menu. The feedback on our ready-meals has been fantastic and we’re really pleased with the way they’re working out. Orders taken from 11.30am. If you can, please give us 24 hours notice of your order, but we’ll always try to sort something out for you if this is not possible – give us a call and ask.
This is pretty big news:
Lunch & Dinner now served 5 nights a week. Almost like a proper restaurant. Finally! And serving all day Sunday. Roast beef. All day. So happy about this. Please help us spread the word (and book a table for a Wednesday night!!)
No more morning coffee, though. That change is quite sad. For many years, the early starts were time for me to do paperwork at the bar and, if someone wanted a coffee, then it was a welcome distraction. Some of our closest and most interesting regulars have been primarily morning tea or coffee guests. Some are sadly no longer with us. But mornings were never financially worthwhile and as a business decision, stopping doing them is really - unfortunately - a ‘no-brainer’.
Now really is the time to stop doing a few of the unprofitable things. Sorry to our (small!) band of regular early birds and the Saturday morning faithful. We gave it a good go (14 years!).
These changes are a result of us revisiting our core values and what inspired us to set up JB’s in the first place. What matters is real hospitality, conviviality and happiness. We hope that this refocus will give us a chance of thriving in the current climate, not just surviving. We’re determined to come out of this a better place to visit and to work and can genuinely say we’re excited about the future… which is a nice feeling after the last few months!
See you soon.
Ben & Joe.
