Joseph Benjamin launches ‘JB at Home’
We hope you are all well and keeping safe. We’ve missed you!
Do you think it’s time we fired up the stoves, woke a few bottles from their cellar slumber and threw open the doors?
Well we do! Things will be a little different for the foreseeable future, but bear with us as we try to adapt and be creative.
From Friday 19th June, JB’s will reopen as a wine shop & deli. Stocking great food (much of it with a Spanish accent) and wine that we personally love and think you’ll find interesting as well as great take away coffees (Did you know JB’s was originally half-deli when we opened in 2006?).
At the same time, our chefs will be preparing ‘JB at Home’ meals for you to pre-order, collect at your leisure and re-heat at home. This launches on Friday too, and you can order by phone from noon this Wednesday 17th June for collection any time after 10am on Friday.
From next week we’ll be open Wednesday to Sunday for orders and collections. For the time-being, we’ll be closed Monday & Tuesday.
If you’re organised, you can order a few days in advance and just let us know a day and rough time for collection. Last orders for same-day collection is at 4pm.
We’ll be doing roasts on Sundays (starting with Father’s Day this Sunday) which can be ordered through the week and collected from Saturday afternoon at 2pm and re-heated when you’re ready. Get your pre-orders in early as we expect this to be popular and plan to sell out.
Take a look at our menu's here.
We’re excited as well as extremely nervous about the future of the business, but getting open and focusing on what we do best will give us a platform from which to adjust, twist and turn as lockdown eases or the situation changes.
The welfare of our customers and staff is still our top priority and we’re taking our responsibilities seriously in that regard. If the situation deteriorates or we feel that we’re taking too much of a risk with the safety of everyone involved, we’ll re-assess.
In the meantime, this plan may not make any money but it will at least set a direction of travel for what will inevitably be a long, winding journey. We cannot guarantee the survival of this business, but with your support we have a chance.
We look forward to seeing you,
Ben & Joe and the JB team.
